Mike Cherry is an ironworker and a writer. He started his work with iron and steel in a wire rolling factory and moved on to high steel construction, literally rising to the job of connector. Connectors are the men at the top of every construction site, putting the building together. Mr. Cherry lives in Bronxville, New York, with his wife and two children.
